Doktor nOnsensical's Vision of Life

It's Manifest Monday; let's build something awesome together. You? Me? This world is OURS. Never let anyone tell you any differently. Power fluctuates. People rise and fall. Opinions fly, and perspectives vary, but nOnsense, oh nOnsense is the one consistency. As your fully unlicensed doktor of unfiltered nOnsense, perhaps you should join me in a drink?

That's what I blurbed on my Facebook this morning. It came after some deep discussions last night with an old friend, sparking that ponderous mood that likes to ask the big questions - the mood that likes to drink deep of the cerebral essence that plagues every thinking man's mind.

It's just one of the many roles I play, one of the many masks I don on a day-to-day basis.

That's really what this whole "life" thing comes down to for me. A long time ago, I realized that any "personality" I really had was little more than a composite of all my favorite interest and hobbies from childhood. All the movies, video games, books, comics, and television shows I enjoyed blended together to form those synaptic processes in my brain, cauterizing that mushy gray matter with imprints of social nuances, etiquettes, and quirks. Same goes for creativity. It's all pulled from a composite pool of everything my senses have ever fed off of.

That's it. No more, no less. I certainly could pick one characteristic archetype and stick with it, but at the same time, isn't that just settling for an advertised persona? In this fast-paced, techno-crazy world we live in, it seems that most modern personalities are just inherited advertisements. I mean, when else in history was masculinity defined as drinking light beer and wearing striped, collared shirts in Middle Class suburbia while throwing one's life fully at Fantasy Football? Sure, these can be argued as interests and hobbies, but don't hobbies make the man? Isn't one's love for art (or lack thereof) an indicator as to what "type" of person that man is?

I reject all this. When I say that, I don't mean that I reject it in a counter-culture sense, as that is just another proverbial mask or "type" of person. No. I reject it in that, one day I'll submerge myself in the Fantasy Football culture, and the next day, I'll completely abhor it. A different mask will be worn, and a different talent pool will be strived for.

Life is an objective roller coaster. All those things and goals people strive for are not the purpose. It is merely a ride, and on this ride, we have the ability to play many roles and to wear many outfits. We have the ability conceptualize our lives and perceive them in different ways, and we have the ability to play with these concepts and perceptions. As the cliche goes, "life is what you make of it," but that stands true with this argument.

Is there a God? A universal consciousness? Nothing? A void? An all-supreme alien race that seeded us?

Do you want there to be?

That's the beauty of being the artist of life. If you look for it, you will find your proof. If not, you will not find proof.

With that said, sit back and enjoy the blank canvas every once in a while. Use that mind's paintbrush to fill in the gaps and make this fulfilling experience even moreso. Conceptualize the universe and the plethora of its possibilities. You are the creator, the magic man, the architect, and the grand designer. Life is merely an exchange of energy amongst energy beings, and you have the opportunity to tap into as much or as little energy as you please.

Right?

Well... at least... that's how I feel. But who am I, anyway? I'm just a self-proclaimed, unlicensed doctor of nOnsense running around injecting denizens with ridiculousness.
